Stick It To ‘Em: Stickers for Marketing

Stickers. You seem to see them everywhere nowadays: on a water bottle, a stop sign, someone’s bicycle, or a laptop, but are they really a serious (or even worthwhile) marketing strategy? Well, in short…yes. Yes, they are.
Stickers are a low-cost product that can make your brand or business visible to future clients or consumers. Think about it. You give your sticker to one person and they plaster it on their water bottle they take everywhere, and now every person they run into will see your sticker, and as a result, they see your business. Genius, right?
Gone is the day of promotional pens, matches, stationary, etc. Let’s be honest here. Most of those just end up in the trash or in the bottom of your mom’s purse. These days, the younger demographic wants something hip, trendy, and easy. Most 15- to 25-year-olds don’t have cable or live tv, so they’re not sitting through many commercials – they’re scrolling through their friends’ social media pages.
But just how do stickers fit into social media? Well, if your sticker becomes something cool that people want, the more likely it is that someone will want it and share it. Maybe it has a hashtag or a really cool design that will promote people to post pictures of it and tag you.  We know you’ve seen those “Keep Calm and Chive On” stickers pasted on countless car windows, and (if you’re a Reno-Tahoe local) several “Keep Tahoe Blue” stickers can be found within a 100-foot radius. Creating a well-designed, recognizable sticker for your brand can end up on anyone’s car or water bottle. Whether you charge a couple of bucks for them or hand them out for free, it will inspire people to show their sticker off, spread the word about you, and therefore lead to greater exposure for you. And that’s all just from a silly little sticker.
That is the beauty of this grassroots marketing strategy. To make it big, you have to act small. Three-inches small, to be exact.
So go forth! Design a beautiful sticker (or hire us to do it for you…wink, wink), give them to everyone you know, then sit back and watch what happens!
